This page lists the cookies LocalStacked sets and why. For the wider picture of what we collect, see the Privacy Policy.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser. It lets a site recognise your browser between page loads — to keep you signed in, or to count you as one visitor rather than ten.
The cookies this site sets
Our own
ls_attr — set when you arrive from one of our ads or a tagged link. It records which campaign and which click brought you here: the UTM parameters and the gclid identifier Google attaches to an ad click. If you go on to submit a form, that value is attached to your request so we can tell which advertising actually produces work.
It lasts 90 days, and contains nothing you typed into any form.
We also keep a copy of the same value in your browser's local storage, under the same name, for browsers that refuse the cookie. It holds the same campaign and click information and nothing else.
Client portal sign-in
If you are a client and sign in to our reporting portal, Supabase, our sign-in provider, sets session cookies (their names begin with sb-) that keep you signed in. They are strictly necessary for the portal, last for the session, and are never set for visitors who do not sign in.
Google Analytics
Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies (_ga and related) to tell returning visitors apart from new ones and to group page views into sessions. We use this to see which pages are useful and which aren't.
Google Ads
When our Google Ads tag is enabled, it loads on every page of the site, whether or not a campaign is running that day, and sets conversion-linker cookies so a click on an ad can be matched to an evaluation request. Without them we'd be paying for advertising we can't measure, which is the exact thing we tell clients not to do.
Hosting
Our host, Vercel, provides page-view analytics that are cookieless — they measure traffic without storing anything in your browser.
What we don't do
We don't set advertising cookies for anyone else, we don't run third-party ad networks on this site, and we don't sell what these cookies collect.
Turning them off
You can clear or block cookies from your browser's settings at any time — every major browser offers this, and private/incognito windows discard them when you close the window.
A browser-level ad or tracker blocker will block Google Analytics entirely. Nothing on this site breaks without cookies; only our measurement does.
Google Analytics and the Google Ads tag load on every page except the client portal, and this site does not show a cookie banner; the controls above are how you opt out.
To control ad personalisation across Google's products, use Google's My Ad Center.
Changes
If we add or remove a cookie, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top of it.
